SUBJECT:  Bulletin No: MGR-98-025.1
     Implementation of the 1998 Research Act for Policies with a Sales Closing Date
     After the Date of this Bulletin 


BACKGROUND:

The Risk Management Agency has received several requests for clarification of Bulletin No.:
MGR-98-025 dated September 18, 1998.

ACTION:

Attachment "A" may be revised to indicate that the $60 administrative fee refers to "per crop per
county" instead of policy.  

The deadline for obtaining the producer's signature for the 1999 crop year for Attachment "A"
for new applicants is the sales closing date and for carry-over insureds is the cancellation date.

Reinsured companies are not required to offer applicants or insureds the opportunity to obtain
coverage by signing one of the statements contained in Attachment "A."  Any action in regard to
this bulletin or Bulletin MGR-98-025 is solely at the discretion of each reinsured company.
