SUBJECT:  1998 Sweet Potato Pilot Insurance Program


BACKGROUND:


The 1998 sweet potato pilot insurance program Special Provisions of Insurance lists the final
planting date for Columbus and Johnston Counties, North Carolina, as June 15, 1998.  Recent
informational indicates that the June 15 date is too early and not agronomically appropriate for
these counties.

ACTION:

Effective for the 1998 crop year, the Risk Management Agency will insure sweet potatoes planted
on or before June 30, 1998.  The actuarial documents master (ADM) file will be updated to
include the June 30 date; however, the Special Provisions of Insurance will not be regenerated. 
Companies should forward this information to their representatives and agents operating in these
counties notifying them of the change.
