SUBJECT: 1998 Approved Malting Barley Varieties


BACKGROUND:

The Risk Management Agency has been advised that Moravian 22, also known as C22, and
Merit are two new malting barley varieties that have been released for planting for malt
production for the 1998 crop year in several States.  The Barley Special Provisions of Insurance
in counties where the Malting Barley Price and Quality Endorsement is available do not contain
these two new malt barley varieties for the 1998 crop year.

ACTION:

This bulletin is issued to advise that Moravian 22 and Merit malt barley varieties are insurable
for the 1998 crop year in all States under the Malting Barley Price and Quality Endorsement
provided all applicable terms and conditions of such endorsement are met.
