Ackerman /s/ John Zirschky Administrator SUBJECT: 1999 Projected Market Prices for Wheat, Barley, Oats and Rye The Risk Management Agency (RMA) today announced the projected market prices, which are the maximum price elections for the subject 1999 crops: $3.30 per bushel for wheat, $3.60 per bushel for durum wheat; $1.80 per bushel for barley; $1.25 per bushel for oats; and, $2.80 per bushel for rye. These price elections are available to all producers of wheat, barley, oats and rye who insure their 1999 crop(s) at levels above catastrophic coverage. Price election choices must be made on or before the sales closing date for the crop in a county. The established price elections were $3.30 per bushel for wheat, $1.80 per bushel for barley, $1.15 per bushel for oats, and $2.80 per bushel for rye. When the projected market price election is higher than the established price election, producers originally electing the established price may be impacted by changes to subsidies and administrative fees. Exclusion of hail and fire provisions also may be affected. The prices for catastrophic coverage are: $1.82 per bushel for wheat; $1.98 per bushel for durum wheat; $0.99 per bushel for barley; $0.69 per bushel for oats; and $1.54 per bushel for rye.
