SUBJECT:     2000 Crop Year Projected Market Prices for Wheat, Barley, Oats and Rye

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) today announced projected market prices for the 2000 crop year for wheat, barley, oats, and rye. Projected market prices represent the maximum price elections for the crop year and are as follows: $3.15 per bushel for wheat; $1.60 per bushel for barley; $1.15 per bushel for oats; and $2.55 per bushel for rye. These price elections are available to all producers of wheat, barley, oats, and rye who insure their 2000 crop(s) at levels above catastrophic coverage. Price election choices must be made on or before the sales closing date for the crop in a county.

The established price elections were $3.15 per bushel for wheat, $1.60 per bushel for barley, $1.15 per bushel for oats, and $2.55 per bushel for rye.

The prices for catastrophic coverage are: $1.74 per bushel for wheat; $0.88 per bushel for barley; $0.64 per bushel for oats; and $1.41 per bushel for rye.
