SUBJECT:     Final Planting Date for 2000 Wheat in Certain Arizona and California Counties to be 2/15/00

BACKGROUND:

The final planting date for wheat in certain counties in Arizona and California has traditionally been February 15. For the 2000 crop year the final planting date was revised to January 31 for the Actual Production History (APH) plan of insurance. However, the final planting date for the Crop Revenue Coverage (CRC) plan of insurance for wheat was issued as February 15, 2000. This creates an inequity among insureds based upon the plan of insurance they choose.

ACTION:

For the 2000 crop year, the final planting date for both the APH plan and the CRC plan of insurance for the following counties in Arizona and California will be February 15, 2000.

State: Arizona

Counties: Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Maricopa, La Paz, Mohave, Pima, Pinal, and Yuma

State: California

Counties: Alameda, Amador, Butte, Colusa, Fresno, Glenn, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Merced, Monterey, Placer, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Yuba
