     SUBJECT:  1998 Crop Revenue Coverage Basic and Crop Provisions for Crops
               With a Contract Change Date of December 31, 1997
     
     Today, the Risk Management Agency (RMA) placed on the Reporting
     Organization (RO) Server the new 1998 Crop Revenue Coverage (CRC) Basic
     Provisions and Crop Provisions for coarse grains, cotton, and wheat with 
     a contract change date of December 31, 1997.  The provisions are in PDF
     format.  These documents are effective for the 1998 and succeeding crop
     years.  A brief description of the significant changes has been included
     for the CRC Basic Provisions and Crop Provisions.  Please refer to the
     CRC Basic Provisions and Crop Provisions for complete information.  The
     Underwriting Rules and Questions and Answers for CRC coarse grains,
     cotton and wheat are also on the server.  This information is also
     available on the RMA Web Site at
     http://www.act.fcic.usda.gov/actuarial/index.html under the FTP Download
     directory.
     
     These policies are consistent with the Actuarial filing previously
     released as reflected in Informational Memorandum R&D-97-079 and must be
     issued to all carryover insureds for the 1998 crop year at least 30 days
     prior to the cancellation date.
