SUBJECT:   1998 Crop Revenue Coverage Base Price Announcements for Corn,
 Grain Sorghum, Soybeans, and Cotton

The 1998 base prices for Crop Revenue Coverage (CRC) corn, grain
sorghum, and soybeans in counties with a sales closing date prior to
March 15 as defined in the CRC Commodity Exchange Endorsement - Coarse
Grains are as follows: 

  Corn  100 percent    $2.83 per bushel
    95 percent    $2.69 per bushel

  Grain Sorghum   100 percent    $2.69 per bushel
    95 percent    $2.56 per bushel

  Soybeans   100 percent    $6.83 per bushel
    95 percent    $6.49 per bushel

The 1998 base prices for CRC cotton in counties with a January 15 sales
closing date as defined in the CRC Commodity Exchange Endorsement -
Cotton are as follows:

  Cotton100 percent    $0.72 per pound
    95 percent    $0.68 per pound
