2017 Peach Variety Listing Table

In Table 1, producers may use the peach variety listings to help determine the appropriate yield computation. A peach variety’s inclusion on the list does not imply that a specific variety is insurable. Producers should refer to the Special Provisions in the Actuarial Information Browser (AIB) for chilling hour insurability limitations in each county. Within the AIB, relevant data codes are associated with the following states: Alabama (01); Florida (12); Georgia (13); and South Carolina (45).

If a variety is not listed below, please contact the Valdosta Regional Office to request a chilling hour determination and season maturation category.

Season

The season is determined by utilizing research information that rates a variety's ripening as the “days before elberta” (DBE) or the “days after bloom” (DAB). Below are several examples of seasonsal determinations.

• Redhaven is rated as 28 DBE (-28) and is categorized as a mid-season variety;
• Redglobe is rated as 13 DBE (-13) and is categorized as a late-season variety; and
• Flordaking is rated as 69 DAB and is categorized as an early-season variety.
