2016 Reference Year Adjustment Factors

The double asterisk (**) in the Contract Seed (BVGS) Dry Beans table below designates which year's Reference Year Adjustment Factor (RYAF) is to be used in adjusting 2016’s transitional yield (T-yield) for standard T-yield variable percentages or yield floor computations. The double asterisk RYAF is also used in determining yield adjustment (YA) yield substitution values for qualifying low yields occurring in 2003 and subsequent years.

For low actual yields in years 2002 and prior that are eligible for YA, remember the T-yields contained within the actuarial documents for 2002 and prior years are expressed in 1987-dollar equivalents. Use the RYAF designated with the single asterisk (*) to derive the corresponding year’s T-yield in its 2016 equivalent value for YA substitution purposes.
