Michael Alston, Acting Associate Administrator

Michael Alston has been named Acting Associate Administrator of the Risk Management Agency (RMA), U.S. Department of Agriculture. RMA provides economic protection and risk management tools to America’s farmers and ranchers primarily through federally sponsored crop insurance delivered and serviced by private insurance companies.
Alston brings strong program knowledge into his new role with hands-on leadership experience as Director of the Springfield Regional Office overseeing crop insurance operations in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Alston also served as the Assistant Deputy Administrator for Compliance and Deputy Administrator of the Insurance Services of RMA.
A native of Michigan, Mr. Alston holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from Michigan State University.
