Acreage Crop Streamlining Initiative

USDA Releases Acreage Crop Reporting Data Standard for Initial Developer Feedback

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released the Acreage Crop Reporting data standards as a first step towards empowering third-party vendors to automate and streamline the processes of sending agricultural producer’s data to USDA. These data standards have been released prior to the implementation of an initial version to get feedback from interested vendors. Visit usda.github.io/data-standards/ to view the standards, or usda.github.io/data-standards/contribute.html to provide comments.

The data standards support the USDA Acreage Crop Reporting and Streamlining Initiative to enable producers to report common data that is then shared by the Farm Service Agency, the National Agricultural Statistic Service, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Risk Management Agency eliminating the need for producers to report the same information multiple times.
